Weleda Skin Food Reviews

Review of Weleda Skin Food
By Gillian L.

PACKAGING The Weleda Skin Food comes in an aluminium tube in a box. All Weleda packaging is made from recycled materials and can be recycled again. The 25ml trial size is great for popping into your handbag.

APPLICATION Skin food ,as it says, is an intensive , nourishing cream suitable for rough, dry skin anywhere on the body. Weleda Skin Food can be used as a day and night cream and also makes a fabulous overnight hand treatment used with cotton gloves. It is very intensive so I think most suited to very dry skins, rough patches and for extra winter protection. To apply to the face use only a spot and then gently dab in to avoid dragging the skin as it is such a rich consistency. Weleda skin food is easier to apply to hands and other body areas but needs well rubbed in and leaves skin slightly sticky until absorbed. I would describe this product as a skin treatment rather than an everyday moisturiser unless your skin is very dry.

INGREDIENTS Weleda grow their own plants and herbs under strict organic controls so all products are 100% free from artificial pesticides and herbicides .As a long established ethical, organic and cruelty free company all Weleda products can be trusted by those of us concerned about what we put on our bodies and how we treat our world resources. The main moisturising ingredients in the Weleda skin food are sunflower oil, sweet almond oil ,beeswax and lanolin. Herbal extracts of rosemary ,chamomile and calendula give the cream its nourishing and healing properties.

RESULTS I used Weleda skin food cream on my hands and elbows. I loved the citrussy, herbal scent though this was quite strong and may upset those sensitive to essential oils. Applied as an intensive hand treatment , wearing cotton gloves overnight, Weleda skin food left my hands silky soft, hydrated and nourished. As a hand cream to simply apply as needed I found it rather heavy and as it takes time to absorb feels a bit tacky. However it was so effective as a hand treatment that I’d buy this again.

PROS Weleda skin cream Good value for money
- A quality treatment for rough ,dry skin
-organic and ethically sound product
-suitable for female and male as scent is herbal.

CONS Contains lanolin and beeswax so not suitable for vegans or those allergic to lanolin

Whish Pomegranate Shave Cream Reviews

Review of Whish Pomegranate Body Shave Cream

By Dorothy Reid

Packaging Whish Pomegranate Shave Cream comes in a recyclable plastic pump dispenser with a plastic cap.

Application The pump dispenser on this Whish Pomegranate Body Shave Cream works very efficiently. The Whish Pomegranate Shave Cream is very thick and creamy and applies smoothly and easily to dry or wet skin. It does not have the usual foaming consistency of shaving products. This Whish Pomegranate Shave Cream has a very rich texture and leaves the skin feeling soothed and softened. For this reason, it does not rinse off as quickly and easily as foam-type products.

Ingredients The Whish Pomegranate Shaving Cream contains all natural ingredients, including pomegranate oil, which gives it a wonderful natural fragrance. It also contains a number of excellent moisturisers, such as natural squalene (omega 3), coconut oil, jojoba seed oil, shea butter and soothing green tea.

Results Whish Pomegranate Shave Cream leaves skin feeling soft and smooth and smelling wonderful.

Pros: Whish Shaving Cream excellent shave cream and moisturiser. The moisturising effect lasts quite a long time.

  • Easy to dispense.
  • No artificial additives.
  • A natural fruit scent.

Cons: The texture of this Whish Pomegranate Shave Cream may be a bit thick for some people’s liking; it is not easy to rinse off.

·The fruity fragrance may not appeal to some people.

·There may be some wastage, because of the thickness of the cream and the pump dispenser method.

Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion Reviews

Review of Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion

By Eva van L.

Packaging The Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion comes in a light pink tube inside a recyclable box. The design is simple and sweet.

Application The Weleda Almond lotion’s texture is somewhere between a milk and a cream, without being too thick or greasy and it glides easily on my face. It removes make-up and dirt effortlessly without a lot of rubbing. It feels pleasant on the skin and doesn’t sting or cause discomfort. The smell, however, of this Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion is a bit disappointing, although the almond scent is noticeable, the overwhelming smell is alcohol. This immediately raises suspicion of the hydrating qualities of the lotion (alcohol dries the skin). However, after having washed the lotion off with some water, my face did not feel tight and dry, but quite well moisturised.

Ingredients As the Weleda Cleansing lotion is designed for sensitive skin, alcohol still doesn’t seem to fit in the ingredients list (or at least not in the quantity used in this lotion). Further more, Weleda is not a very cutting-edge brand, the ingredients in Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion are very basic, but they are safe and do the job. There are no nasty parabens or other suspicious looking chemicals in it. Price-quality wise (the cleansing lotion is quite inexpensive) the ingredients are good enough.

Results Despite of the aforementioned alcohol, the Weleda Almond cleanser did not cause any irritation what so ever. It removed my make-up as it should and did not dry out my skin or cause any blemishes. For deep cleansing, another facial cleanser should probably be used, but this one is good enough to remove the obvious signs of dirt - which is a necessary first step, as you don’t want to remove your (eye!) make-up with a deep-cleansing gel.

Pros: It removes make-up without rubbing.

  • It does not cause any irritation or dehydration.
  • My skin feels comfortable after using it.
  • It’s suitable for sensitive and dry skin.
  • Cons: The amount of alcohol used in the lotion.

Weleda Almond Moisture Cream Reviews

Review of Weleda Almond Moisture Cream
By Irene W.

Packaging The Weleda Almond Moisture Cream comes in a 30ml pink metal tube, enclosed in a pink box. It is plain but adequate though I am not too keen on the metal tube as it can split and is difficult to squeeze the last of the cream out.

Application The Weleda Almond Moisturiser is perfume free although it does have a faint smell of almonds but nothing too overpowering. It is really easy to apply and soft as silk. I like to dampen my face first then apply the Weleda Almond cream to lock in the moisture. It is a light cream that absorbs very well and you can apply your foundation immediately after. It is suitable for sensitive skin and I find it leaves my skin looking fresh and dewy.

Ingredients Weleda products are made ethically and with all natural ingredients and the almond moisturizer is chemical and perfume free.

Results After using Weleda Almond Cream my skin feels moist and silky and it looks good. My foundation then glides on and looks much more finished. The Weleda Moisture Cream is excellent to use as a gentle night cream especially if you have oily skin.

Pros: Weleda Almond Moisture Cream is very good for sensitive skins
• It is unperfumed
• It leaves your skin looking good.
• It complements the rest of the range
• It is very reasonably priced

Cons: The metal tube can crack and it is difficult to squeeze the last of the product out.

Pai Camellia and Rose Cleanser Reviews

Review of Pai Camellia & Rose Organic Cleanser

By Kath A.

Packaging: The Pai Camellia and Rose Cleanser came in a small glass pot with a plastic lid. The writing is black and flowery and very classy!

Application: The first thing you notice about the Pai Camellia & Rose Organic Cleanser is the beautiful floral fragrance of rose when you open the pot. The cleanser itself is very thick and almost like a moisturiser. I massaged the Pai Camellia and Rose Cleanser onto my face and removed it with tissues or a muslin. It was effective at removing mascara and had none of the stripping qualities some cleansers can have. It left my skin feeling moisturised and although there was some residue left behind it felt quite nice!

Ingredients: The Pai Organics Camellia and Rose Cleanser cleanser is made with fresh, natural products and should be used within a certain time of opening and kept in the fridge! That's freshness for you!

Results: The Pai Camellia and Rose cleanser is effective and gentle and left my skin feeling soft and fragrant - it's a shame the scent doesn't last longer, however! Definitely suitable for sensitive skins.

Pros: Gentle and effective

A lovely fragrance

Moisturising and softening effects

Cons: Left some residue and wasn't removed completely

Scent is not very long lasting

Is so fresh you have to use it quickly, although this may be a benefit!

Pai Cream for Combination Skin Reviews

Review of Pai Cream for Combination Skin

By Debra S.

Packaging
A small sample jar of Pai Cream for Combination Skin was sent, basically a clear plastic jar with a white lid which screws off. A clear safmat type label used plain black lettering which was easy to read, but only gave the above product name. There was no product information on the jar.

Application
It is a fairly stiff white moisturiser which is quite thick and non-greasy and easy to apply. This Pai Geranium & Thistle Combination Skin Cream appears white at first on the skin, but if you rub it gently, it sinks in within about ten seconds. If you don’t, it will stay for a while on the skin surface. I found the smell as expected and loved the geranium odour, which is quite strong. Once applied to the skin, it is no longer noticeable. I did resort to using a couple of layers of this Pai Cream for Combination Skin though, as it was not particularly moisturizing.

Ingredients
I had to look at their website for further information regarding ingredients of this Pai Skincare product other than geranium and thistle. The website is very visual and easy to use, with “try Pai before you buy” samples (post and packaging has to be paid for though). There is certainly plenty of information available and I think it is a good website. The main ingredient of this Pai Geranium and Thistle Face Cream is purified water, however, although it does contain several oils such as jojoba, borage and manuka. There is also a corn based emulsifier, vitamin E, rosemary antioxidant, juniper and lavender. This is said to be suitable for vegans and soil association certified.

Results
It is difficult to say, as I was only sent a tiny sample of the Pai Cream for Combination Skin and the small jar was only about one third full. I used it morning and night for three days and then it ran out. I would say that a moisturiser needs
to be used at least twice a day for a week to see results. I would not say that my skin felt very moisturised afterwards and it stayed the same in texture, with no visible improvements. I could not honestly say that I was impressed.

Pros: Pai Cream for Combination Skin is based on natural ingredients
It was non-greasy
The odour was gorgeous
Suitable for vegans
Cons: It was not very moisturizing
Disappointed to see purified water as the main ingredient
No visible improvements to skin
