Essential Care Facial Wash Reviews

Review of Essential Care Lemon & Tea Tree Facial Wash

By Sally S.

Packaging The Essential Care Lemon & Tea Tree Facial Wash comes in a plastic tube encased in a box made of recycled & sustainably sourced card. The packaging is pretty uninspiring, simple white background and beige text.

Application The Essential Care Lemon & Tea Tree Facial Wash is quite runny in texture and a little mottled. The tea tree and lemon oils give it a lovely clean smell which made it more inviting to use. The product lathered very gently as it was massaged into damp skin, for me I prefer the gentler washes as it usually reflects the purity of the ingredients and as a soil association approved product I felt confident of the ingredients. The texture was very pleasant and my skin quickly felt like it had been cleansed. The wash rinsed away quickly.

Ingredients The ingredients list for Essential Care Lemon & Tea Tree Facial Wash is simple and stacked with a cleansing and soothing blend of tea tree, lemon and aloe vera. I was also pleased to see that the products are made in the UK and that it is a family run business, seeking to use organic and fair trade ingredients where possible.

Results After using the Essential Care Lemon & Tea Tree Facial Wash for a week my skin still felt comfortable and very clean. The product is aimed at normal to oily skin and it is suggested useful for those with acne, I can well imagine it would suit this skin type well as my combination skin appreciated its thorough cleansing.

Pros: Fresh, clean smell. Very unisex.

  • No nonsense kind of product.
  • Very thorough at removing make up.
  • Well priced and likely to last a long time.

Cons: Quite a runny consistency, easy to dispense too much

  • Very basic, uninspiring packaging.

A'kin Rosehip Oil Reviews

Review of A’kin Pure Radiance Rosehip Oil

By Nicky B.

Packaging A’kin Pure Radiance Rosehip Oil comes in a glass bottle with a dropper.

Application A’kin Pure Radiance Rosehip Oil is rich, smooth and golden (like sunlight in a bottle). It massages easily into your skin, sinking in without feeling sticky. You only need about 4 drops and then you put your usual moisturiser on top.

Ingredients A’kin Pure Radiance Rosehip Oil is just what it says on the bottle – 100% organic highly concentrated seed oil. I love the fact that its vegan and I know exactly what I’m putting on my skin is totally natural. It contains Vitamin A, Vitamin E and is also high in the omegas-3, 6 and 9! Being a vegetarian I know that a good balance of Omegas in the body is required for general good health so love the fact that I can put these on my skin too for added benefit!

Results From the first application it felt like I was giving my skin a real nourishing treat leaving it looking bright and vital. It gave my skin a real moisture boost and a gentle golden glow. I have a very sensitive skin and my skin loves this oil.

Pros: Vegan and cruelty free

Great for sensitive skins

100% organic

Lovely dropper bottle – easy to use without wasting any oil

Cons: None!

Huni Anytime Toning Mist Reviews

Review of Huni Anytime Toning Mist

By Catherine G.

Packaging The Huni Anytime Toning Mist is packaged in 150 ml beige, plastic spray pump container with the “huni” logo on the front.

Application The spray pump on Huni Anytime Toning Mist delivers a very fine mist which just melts into your skin beautifully. I would imagine on a hot sunny day this is amazingly refreshing (especially if stored in the fridge!) but in the middle of winter it works as a refreshing toner after cleansing. Simply mist over your face and neck after cleansing twice a day.

Ingredients Huni Anytime Toning Mist is another great natural product from Comvita, New Zealand and includes their trademark ingredient “Manuka Honey UMF20+” which is known for its moisturising and antioxidant properties. Another great NZ ingredient is “Kowhai Extract” traditionally used for its cleansing and soothing qualities.

Results The Huni Anytime Toning Mist is very hydrating for your skin so great in these harsh winter conditions and also after cleansing this leaves a nice clean base for your moisturiser to really give your skin a great moisture boost! Huni offer a whole range of skincare products so it may well be worth combining this toner with a moisturiser from their range as well.

Pros: Nice, subtle but refreshing aroma

  • Great pump spray provides a very light mist of toner
  • Very moisturising so leaves the skin feeling nice and soft

Cons: None

Green People Gentle Cleanse Reviews

Review of Green People Gentle Cleanse

By Shona B.

Packaging The sample comes in a lip gloss type tube with a screw on lid. The flexible tube makes it easy to squeeze just the right amount of product out. However, as it lies down, rather than stands up it is difficult to get to the last bits as the product runs low. The actual packaging of Green People Gentle Cleanse is typically Green People; clean simple and it’s clear what it is. The writing is large and easy to read, including the ingredients.

Application The Green People Gentle Cleanse comes out easy from a small hole in the top of the tube. It’s a creamy white, thickish cream which feels luxurious and smooth. It’s reasonably fragrance free with no nasty particles to irritate the skin and no oiliness. To use the product you rub in gently over the skin. I also lightly wiped it over my eyes without irritation. I found that it removed more make up if I left it a few seconds before gently removing it with a damp flannel. It didn’t irritate my skin or eyes and left my skin soft and not in the least dry. I found it removed most of my make up easily although I don’t wear waterproof mascara or long lasting lip stick. It lives up to it’s “gentle cleanse” name.

Ingredients Green People Gentle Cleanse has lots of skin loving ingredients like aloe vera, chamomile, olive oil, rosemary and marshmallow. It is alcohol and paraben free and suitable for vegetarians.

Results Green People Gentle Cleanse is a smooth and non-irritating cream cleanser, which gently removes most makeup gently and easily.

Pros: Non-irritating, even on eyes

  • The product has few ingredients so less to irritate the skin
  • Reasonably fragrance free

Cons: Probably won’t remove waterproof or long lasting waxy makeup

· A little slow to work, especially on heavy makeup

Best For: Natural make-up wearing girls who want an easy to use, effective, no-fuss product.
