Packaging The sample comes in a lip gloss type tube with a screw on lid. The flexible tube makes it easy to squeeze just the right amount of product out. However, as it lies down, rather than stands up it is difficult to get to the last bits as the product runs low. The actual packaging of Green People Gentle Cleanse is typically Green People; clean simple and it’s clear what it is. The writing is large and easy to read, including the ingredients.

Application The Green People Gentle Cleanse comes out easy from a small hole in the top of the tube. It’s a creamy white, thickish cream which feels luxurious and smooth. It’s reasonably fragrance free with no nasty particles to irritate the skin and no oiliness. To use the product you rub in gently over the skin. I also lightly wiped it over my eyes without irritation. I found that it removed more make up if I left it a few seconds before gently removing it with a damp flannel. It didn’t irritate my skin or eyes and left my skin soft and not in the least dry. I found it removed most of my make up easily although I don’t wear waterproof mascara or long lasting lip stick. It lives up to it’s “gentle cleanse” name.

Ingredients Green People Gentle Cleanse has lots of skin loving ingredients like aloe vera, chamomile, olive oil, rosemary and marshmallow. It is alcohol and paraben free and suitable for vegetarians.

Results Green People Gentle Cleanse is a smooth and non-irritating cream cleanser, which gently removes most makeup gently and easily.

Pros: Non-irritating, even on eyes

• The product has few ingredients so less to irritate the skin
• Reasonably fragrance free

Cons: Probably won’t remove waterproof or long lasting waxy makeup

· A little slow to work, especially on heavy makeup

Best For: Natural make-up wearing girls who want an easy to use, effective, no-fuss product.

Packaging The Weleda Wild Rose Facial Toner comes in a 100ml bottle with screw top which is easy to use and enables you to apply just the right amount to cotton wool.

Application Weleda Wild Rose Facial Toner did not irritate or sting at all and calmed my sensitive skin immediately.

Ingredients I am not keen on the smell of the Weleda products and unfortunately this was no exception. It smelt more like rose tea than the rose oil commonly used in cosmetics. This Weleda Wild Rose Facial Toner does contain alcohol and witch hazel, neither of which are ideal for people with dry skin and I found if I used it for several days in a row it was quite drying. Using it every few days delivered optimum results.

Results After using the Weleda Wild Rose Facial Toner, my skin felt refreshed and clean. Although the product contains rose it isn’t very hydrating due to the alcohol and witch Hazel and I needed to use moisturiser immediately afterwards. I probably wouldn’t buy this product as I like to have a toner I can use daily.

Pros: It refreshes skin

• It is excellent for sensitive skin
• It is good value for money

Cons: The smell is a bit too strong

· It is a bit too astringent for dry skin

Packaging The 10ml Weleda Wild Rose Facial Toner comes in a glass bottle with a plastic screw top lid. The cardboard box packaging is bright pink with purple, gold and white lettering. The ingredients are listed along with product details in English and French. It stated that detailed directions for use could be found on the in-pack leaflet, but I was disappointed to find that the only leaflet enclosed was one detailing the product range.

Application I applied the toner after cleansing using few drops on a cotton pad. I could immediately feel the astringent properties of the toner and felt that it was really removing impurities on my skin. It did not sting or irritate my skin and my skin felt a little softer after using it for a week. I did not suffer form any blocked pores whilst using this product. The gentle rose fragrance was very pleasant and not too strong.

Ingredients I was very pleased that this product is low in alcohol as I find some toners far too drying for my skin. It is free from synthetic fragrances, colours, preservatives and raw materials derived from mineral oils. The ingredients are listed fully and the description of the product is in English and French. Its astringent properties are lent from witch hazel and the extract of the green leaves of Wild Rose, and the ingredients combine to support the natural pH balance of the skin. The product I used had a three-month shelf life, and this is more than enough if you use the product regularly.

Results After using the Weleda Wild Rose Facial Toner for three weeks, my skin does feel a little softer and I have not had any problems with blocked pores. My T-zone that is usually slightly oily was definitely less shiny.

Pros: You can feel the astringent properties working straight away.

• My T-zone was definitely less shiny.
• It kept blocked pores at bay.
• It has a very pleasant fragrance.

Cons: I used this product twice per day, but think that once every day or every other day would suffice.

· It can be quite drying if used often on dryer skin types.

· It can be quite hard to control the amount dispensed from the bottle.

Weleda Skin Food Reviews

Packaging: The Weleda Skin Food cream is packaged in a tube within a cardboard box. The box shows full details of the product itself and the ingredients, including the natural essential oils used in the cream.

Application: Due to the essential oils this Weleda skin food contains, it is beautifully scented. The texture of the Skin Food is creamy, although slightly greasy once applied to the skin. I have very dry skin which is prone to eczema, and found that the Weleda Skin Food did keep the dry areas supple and moisturised for some time after application.

Ingredients: The ingredients of Weleda Skin Food are all listed on the packaging. I noticed that there was Lanolin in the cream, and was interested to find out whether this would irritate my skin as it is a known allergen. I haven’t had any problems so far, but using the Weleda cream over a longer period of time may make a difference.

Results: Although the Weleda Skin Food is lovely to use the moisturising effects don’t last indefinitely, and my skin remains very dry. I don’t know if this is due to changes in the weather and sitting in centrally heated environments at home and work, but I think I would need to use the Weleda skin cream for a much longer period to see its full potential. If you have normal/dry skin that needs moisturising then this product would be a ‘must have’, but with drier more sensitive skin I think a product without the lanolin or essential oils would be more appropriate, as both of these can irritate and dry skin out at times.

Pros: Lovely scent, nice textured cream

Cons: Not moisturising enough for very dry skin

The Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion has a great non-greasy feel and is easily applied. It wipes across the skins surface effortlessly and has a gentle formulation – this is not a harsh chemical cleaner. It is not overly absorbent and so can be wiped off easily. A little goes a long way of Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion and it can be applied sparingly on a variety of applicators.

Some cream based cleansers can leave the skin feeling unclean, or worse, clogged up, but this Weleda Almond Cleanser leaves the skin feeling fresh and supple – and unlike some cream style cleansers I could actually see the evidence of dirt removal on the cotton pad! Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion has a very mild scent of almond with a background hint of something like alcohol, which is not altogether pleasant and can linger for around 30 minutes or so after application. However, an hour after use of Weleda Almond Lotion all that can be detected is a faint hint of almond.

The metal tube of Weleda Cleansing Lotion is simple and retro and like toothpaste tubes of old may take some effort to get every last drop out of it.

Over the product trial period the Weleda Cleanser performed effectively as a cleanser and even managed to remove makeup easily, with the exception of mascara!

I liked this Pai Geranium & Thistle Combination Skin Cream. The texture was smooth and silky and left my skin feeling very soft. The Pai Geranium Skin Cream was very natural smelling with a strong scent of geranium – I liked it but I think it might be too strong for those not keen on heavy essential oil scents.

I think Pai Geranium Skin Cream would suit a combination skin that errs towards oily, or a drier combination skin in the summer. It wasn’t really rich enough for my cheeks in autumn, although I think it would be great in warmer weather. On my oily T-zone Pai Skincare Geranium Skin Cream was just right, and did not make my nose extra-shiny. From my sample usage I would consider buying the full size product for summer use.

I can’t really comment on the packaging of Pai Cream for Combination Skin as I only have experience of the tester product. However, the full size product of Pai Geranium Skin Cream seems to come in a pump dispenser, which is my preference. I do not like to use moisturisers from pots, especially natural ones with short shelf lives, as they will never be particularly hygienic.

I like the fact that Pai is certified organic by the Soil Association – this gives me great comfort that the products are truly organic. All round the Pai Geranium Face Cream is a great product and from my experience I would try more of their range.
