Review of Pai Macademia and Rose Skin Cream
By Louise M.
Packaging The Pai Macademia and Rose Skin Cream is contained within a beautifully decorated little glass pump dispenser, it could certainly take pride of place on your dressing table. The pump is also a hygienic way to work your way through the product without repeatedly putting your fingers back into the same jar. In line with the company’s ethics the pump is recyclable and comes with minimum packaging to minimise the product’s environmental impact.
Application Pai Macademia and Rose Dry Skin Cream has one of the most velvety textures of any cream I have ever tried. It is rich and creamy without feeling like it is sitting on the surface of the skin and from experience that seems to be a difficult balance to strike! Beyond the texture of the cream, the scent is also striking. Like many other natural face creams it smells of a very pleasant mix of rose germanium and roses, beautiful on its own but the scent does last a while and I found I needed to avoid wearing perfume as well.
Ingredients I have incredibly dry and sensitive skin, especially on my face and I tolerated this cream without any adverse reactions at all. The macademia oil and shea butter had wonderful moisturising properties and I imagine that the rose water would make this cream an especially good choice for mature skins. The formula of Pai Macademia and Rose Skin Cream also contains borage oil which I have used previously on my eczema so from my own experience I would have no hesitation about the benefits of this cream’s plant-based ingredients. I was also gratified to find out that Pai does not use any chemical nasties in their products, nor do they do not test on animals.
Results I was very impressed with this Pai Macademia and Rose Skin Cream. It looked feminine, sleek and modern in the packaging, felt like velvet on the skin and managed to keep my very dry skin hydrated for several hours (which is no mean feat). The scent of rose geranium was pleasant although a little overpowering, but this would certainly not stop me from using the product again. I imagine that over time the moisturising benefits would soothe skin further, so it would be worth sticking with it over several weeks.
Pros: Looks good and rather expensive in the bottle
· Has a wonderful texture which strikes the right balance between feeling rich and absorbing easily
· Really did moisturise my skin
· Has a raft of natural ingredients which did not aggravate my sensitive skin
Cons: The scent may be a little overwhelming
