Barefoot Botanicals Rosa Fina Hand & Nail Cream Reviews

Review of Barefoot Botanicals Rosa Fina Anti-ageing Hand & Nail Cream

By Sue B.

Packaging: Barefoot Botanicals Rosa Fina Anti-ageing Hand & Nail Cream comes in a compact, 50 ml, handbag size plastic tube. The black text on a white background makes it easy to read. The back of the tube has symbols and text that clearly state that there are no chemical nasties, it is cruelty free and suitable for vegans so, at a glance, important information is boldly available. Should you want to find out more about this and/or other Barefoot Botanicals products the website, mailing address and telephone number are all present.

Application: The rich, yet not too thick, cream is absorbed quickly but does leave a slightly greasy film which I’ve also found with other hand creams from this range. It isn’t something that I like the feel of, so I generally apply my hand cream at night, then put on a pair of cotton gloves to help the cream get absorbed with the heat of my hands. I found the fresh aroma calming and relaxing, especially when applied at night. Then, on waking, your hands are luxuriously soft and moisturised ready for the day ahead. If your hands are beginning to show signs of aging, give this a try.

Ingredients: Not all the ingredients are listed on the tube, so I went to the website to find out more. The Rosa mosqueta oil is pressed from the seeds of a wild Chilean rose and is reputed to dramatically reduce wrinkles, stretch marks and scar tissue. Persian rose, frankincense and sandalwood are some of the ingredients that give Barefoot Botanicals Rosa Fina Anti-ageing Hand & Nail Cream a fresh almost clinical smell. With ingredients to help prevent age spots and soften rough cuticles, this sounds like a product for total care of your hands.

Although not organic, the ingredients are 100% ethically-sourced.

Pros:

Lots of information on the tube with easy to read text.

100% natural products.

Softens and strengthens the cuticles, nourishes, hydrates, smoothes and soothes the skin.

In my opinion, this is a great winter hand cream, certainly up to the job.

Cons:

Slightly greasy after application.

No indication on the tube of its use by life.

At £17.95 for 50ml it’s not the cheapest hand cream on the market but, in my opinion, it’s worth paying more for a product that totally cares for your hands, especially in the winter months.

Barefoot Botanicals SOS Face & Body Cream Reviews

Barefoot Botanicals SOS Rescue Me Face & Body Cream
By Anisa B.

Packaging: Barefoot Botanicals SOS Rescue Me Face & Body Cream comes in a 50ml and 100ml size. Both come in a white plastic tube. I find this form of packaging is most hygienic when dispensing moisturisers.

Application: The texture of this cream is thick and is cream in colour. It feels nice and creamy, very moisturising without being greasy or oily. Instantly I can smell a gorgeous aroma, mainly the orange blossom, it isn’t overpowering – just very pleasant.
.
Ingredients: All the ingredients in all Barefoot Botanicals products are all natural and are nourishing for the skin especially those skin types with skin conditions.

I have eczema so I was looking forward to trying this. It definitely feels calming and soothing to flared up angry skin but for a day to day moisturiser, I don’t feel this is moisturising enough for my facial skin. For my body, I do like the feel of this, it really does keep that dry flakey skin away. Also, I have been using it on my toddler’s skin, and it works really well for her, gentle and keeps her skin from getting dry. I really like Barefoot Botanicals SOS Rescue Me Face & Body Cream and think it is lovely to use for anyone that is looking for something gentle and calming, it also works for the little ones.

The pros of this cream are:
Smells very pleasant
You get a good amount for the price
Good ingredients
Hygienic packaging that is portable too
Works for little ones too
Calming and soothing
The cons are:
Not moisturising enough for facial skin

Review of Trevarno Olive & Almond Hand Cream
By Sue B.

Packaging: Trevarno Olive & Almond Hand Cream comes in a frosted blue glass jar with a silver coloured metal lid, the capacity is 30 ml. The label is black with white text so has a good contrast making it easy to read.
Application: The white cream has a smooth light texture that is absorbed quickly without leaving a greasy residue, making it ideal for repeated application during the day. I don’t currently have sore or chapped hands yet feel that this cream might be too light to soothe them if I did. I think it is perfect for keeping hands moist and supple therefore useful as a preventative.

Ingredients: There was no list of ingredients on the sample pot that I received but, being familiar with Trevarno skincare products and knowing that they only use natural or organic ingredients, I was happy to use Trevarno Olive & Almond Hand Cream before heading to the Internet for a full list. This list also includes: Lavender Flower Water, Olive Oil infused with Comfrey, Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Cocoa Butter, Vitamin E, and essential oils of Geranium, Grapefruit & Juniper. The combination of these ingredients gives it a clean, fresh smell.

Results: Trevarno Olive & Almond Hand Cream left my hands feeling soft and nourished as well as smelling fresh and clean.

Pros:
Only natural and organic ingredients are used.
The 30ml jar is small enough to fit in your handbag however; Trevarno Olive & Almond Hand Cream is also available in 60ml jar making it a more economical purchase.
Trevarno facial and body products are produced in Cornwall – which is good for buying British.

Cons:
I feel a richer texture would be required if hands were already sore and chapped.
There is a shelf life of only four months after opening.

Trevarno Overnight Replenishing Cream Reviews

Review of Trevarno Overnight Replenishing Cream

By Catherine G.

Packaging: Trevarno Overnight Replenishing Cream is packaged in a small opaque glass pot with a screw top lid and comes in two sizes – 30 and 60ml

Application: I used this Trevarno after cleansing and toning each night and found the cream soon melts into the skin leaving it feeling soft and ready for a night of replenishing! This is a concentrated product so a little goes a long way!

Ingredients: As the name suggests “Trevarno Overnight Replenishing Cream” is a rich overnight cream designed to moisturise and condition the skin on the face and neck area. It combines a lovely blend of essential oils with one of the main ingredients being Lavender Flower Oil which gives the cream a lovely calming scent but is also renowned for being beneficial to the skin. Lavender has always been known for its healing powers and is even used to treat some skin disorders. This is an organic cream which also contains Frankincense oil and Grapefruit seed extract – 2 more ingredients known for their anti-aging properties.

Other ingredients include: Sesame with Carrot Oil, Jojoba Oil, Wheatgerm Oil, Beeswax, Cocoa Butter, Vitamin E, Rosewood and Cedarwood.

Results: When I received the Trevarno night cream in the post a few weeks ago I was very excited to try it, not only because it’s a local West Country Product but also due to the amazing list of organic ingredients it includes!

Having used some other Trevarno products before I know they are truly organic, never tested on animals and safe for sensitive skin too. In the morning my skin felt smooth and clear – I have combination skin but think this product would suit all skin types from normal to dry.

Pros:

Lovely lavender aroma

Rich moisturiser which leaves the skin feeling soft and supple – a little goes a long way!

Suitable for all skin types

Cons:

None – it’s a great product and very well priced too!!

Trevarno Hand Cream Reviews

Review of Trevarno Olive & Almond Hand Cream
By Shona B.

Packaging: The Trevarno Olive & Almond Hand Cream comes in a very sleek royal blue glass jar with silver screw top and sticky black label. At first the jar seems surprisingly small but when you realize how little you need you realize that it’s quite an adequate size. The jar looks good sitting on the bedside table but the glass means you can’t carry it around with you. The screw top lid is a little fiddly to use when you’ve just used the cream but overall the glass jar does look better than a squeezy tube.

Application: The Trevarno Olive & Almond Hand Cream is like a thick whipped cream. It’s not at all runny and you only need a small amount to cover your hands. The Trevarno cream feels a little wet on application but actually soaks in really quickly and the coolness is refreshing. It’s thick enough to feel like you’re using something substantial and that will moisturize but not so thick you have to spend ages rubbing it in. The Trevarno skincare jar is a little unhygienic as you have to keep sticking fingers in but you don’t end up with crusty bits around the neck like tubes. I liked using it on my feet as well as my hands because it was cooling and soothed dry skin.

Ingredients: The ingredients are listed as follows: Lavender Flower Water is blended with Olive Oil infused with Comfrey, Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, along with Cocoa Butter, Vitamin E, and essential oils of Geranium, Grapefruit & Juniper. The product actually smells lightly of almonds but not marzipan. I really like the smell.

Results: The Trevarno Hand Cream product soaked in quickly and left skin refreshed and hydrated. It didn’t completely transform very dry or hard patches but certainly helped with day to day moisturising needs of skin. My hands looked more even toned after use but it made little difference to my cuticles.

Best For: Hands (and elbows and feet!) which are already in reasonable condition and need a fuss free every day moisturizer.

Pros:
Quick to soak in – could hold a pen straight away
Would last a surprisingly long time
The cool, wet feeling of the cream is very refreshing
It’s suitable for vegans and pregnant women.
Cons:
Doesn’t tackle very dry or hard skin
Would be nice if it came in a bigger size
The packaging isn’t the most user friendly for something you would want to carry around

Lavera Orange Shower Gel Reviews

Review of Lavera Orange Shower Gel
By Taryn G.

Packaging The Lavera orange feeling shower & bath gel comes in a orange and white plastic tube, with a screw top lid for easy dispense. It also comes in an outer cardboard rectangle box. Both the packaging has the recycle symbol on it.

Application When I first used the Lavera orange feeling shower gel, I thought the orange feeling shower gel was going to be hard to wash with, but in fact it was the other way round. I found it easy and quick to use because frothed up and became easy to apply with a poof/flannel, unlike some brands. It was also easy to wash off any excess orange feeling shower gel. The orange feeling shower gel is clear in colour and felt sticky to touch but when it came to applying the gel to my body it was smooth like silk and easy to use.

Ingredients They use some organically grown products and natural essential oils which you can smell when you use the shower and bath gel, which I love because I know I’m not putting any man made chemicals on skin. The ingredients were put on the outer packaging in English and German.

Result After using the Lavera orange feeling shower gel, my body felt soft and felt clean, while in the shower I could really smell the oranges, when I got out I could no longer smell it, which I like to have. I would buy and use it again.

Pros: Leaves my body feeling soft and refreshed
Smells of oranges without being over the top
Uses natural/organic ingredients
Suitable for vegans
Easy to apply

Cons:
The orange smell didn’t last as long as my normal body wash
The shower gel only lasted me one week

Review of Lavera Rose Hair Treatment

Review of Lavera Rose Milk Repairing Care Treatment
By Anisa B.

This Lavera Rose Milk Repairing Care Treatment comes in a 125ml plastic green tube but I received the product in a 10ml sachet that had enough product in it to write this review.

The texture of this Lavera Rose Milk Repairing Care Treatment is thick and creamy and smells of roses. The smell, however is not strong and does not feel overpowering as some products do. It is easy to apply and does not feel sticky or like a film and nor does it feel like oily. It feels more like a thick conditioner works easily into the hair.

Lavera says: Lavera Rose Milk Repairing Care Treatment provides intensive nourishing care to stressed and dry hair. Rose flower extract, macadamia and avocado oils provide nourishment while keratin builds and strengthens the hair.
The list of ingredients are: Water (Aqua), Alcohol*, Lauaryl Glucoside, Cetearyl Alcohol, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Guar Hydroxypropyl Trimonium Chloride, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil*, Lecithin, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Macadamia Ternifolia Oil*, Squalene, Rosa Damascena Flower Water*, Prunus Persica (Peach) Extract*, Chitosan, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Xanthun Gum, Panthenol, Hydrogentaed Lecithin, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Fragrance (Parfum)**, Limonene**, Linalool**, Citronellol**, Geraniol**. * ingredients from certified organic agriculture ** natural essential oils

I’ve used this Lavera Rose Milk Repairing Care Treatment once a week for 3-4 weeks now, my hair is not particularly dry but is more normal and dry sometimes. I feel this product made my hair feel softer and tangle free but not more so than a regular conditioner. This is meant to be a treatment so, more effective, but I don’t feel it is. It did not do what I’d expect for a ‘treatment’ product unfortunately and I would only recommend it as a conditioner and not as a treatment product.

The pros of this Lavera Rose Milk Repairing Care Treatment are:
- Smells nice
- Affordable
- Good ingredients
- Hygienic packaging that is portable too

The cons are:
- Not different from a regular conditioner

Review of Jurlique Herbal Eye Gel

Review Jurlique Herbal Recovery Eye Gel
By Sandra C.

Packaging This
Jurlique Herbal Recovery Eye Gel comes in a glass pump bottle with 15ml content, it is a bit heavy to put in your bag.

Application Jurlique Herbal Recovery Eye Gel is too watery to be an eye gel. It feels more like eye serum than eye gel. However, it does spread easy due to the texture. I used it generously day and night for over a month but there is still two third left in the bottle.

Scent I was a bit put off by the smell. I can’t figure out what kind of funny smell it is but it is definitely not my type. It is like the kind of home remedy oil that old ladies use.

Ingredients The packaging claims that the ingredients in
Jurlique Herbal Recovery Eye Gel, arnica and eyebright “help to firm and brighten the delicate skin around the eye area” and this eye gel is packed with a lot of herbal extract. However, what disappointed me is the other far from natural ingredients such as alcohol, a preservative Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate that could be irritating, and chemicals like the PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate which uses as an emulsifier. For 15ml of eye gel costing £33, I would expect more organic or natural ingredients.

Result When I first applied it on the delicate area around my eye, it stung. It was a slight burning sensation around my eye which really worried me. However, I gave it a go and have been using for a month, it doesn’t always stings but on some days it really does. The only good thing about this eye gel is that when my eyes feel really puffy on the morning, I apply a little bit on the eye bags area, and it gives a firming effect. It doesn’t hydrate or smooth any wrinkles as the packaging claims.

Pros:
It does firm the eye contour area.

Cons:
The smell is not nice.
It gave me allergy.
It doesn’t hydrate my skin nor smooth any wrinkles as it claims.
