Living Nature Toning Gel Reviews

Review of Living Nature Extra Hydrating Toning Gel
Michelle L

Application The smell of Living Nature Extra Hydrating Toning Gel is lovely and subtle, and it has a nice light texture. It went onto my face smoothly and didn't take long to dry. It did feel a bit sticky when drying, but once dry it formed a sort of layer on the skin. This layer felt a little 'tight' on my skin before I put my regular face cream over the top. The gel didn't react with my skin at all, and I have very sensitive skin.

When I put my make up on after using Living Nature Extra Hydrating Toning Gel, my make up all flaked off my face, so I ended up only using this gel at night time underneath my night cream rather than during the day when I would be wearing make up.

Results After using the Living Nature Extra Hydrating Toning Gel every night for a week, my skin looks nice and refreshed. It feels nice to put on the skin, and goes under night cream well. I would particularly recommend this product for sensitive skin.

Pros:
• A little of this product goes a long way, so it will last for ages.
• It smells lovely and has a light texture.
• It is suitable for sensitive skin, and particularly nice for the decolletage.

Cons:
• It forms a strange 'layer' on the skin that felt a little strange.
• The gel wasn't compatible with my make up and caused it to flake off.

Barefoot Botanicals Body Lotion Reviews

Barefoot Botanicals Rosa Fina Body Lotion Review

By Catherine J.

Application: The Barefoot Botanicals Rosa Fina hourglass lifting and firming body lotion (£27.95) felt quite silky and absorbed easily into my skin. The skin was rich but not too thick and there was no greasiness when I applied it. It had a pleasant fragrance which was gentle but not over powering.

Packaging: The Barefoot Botanicals Rosa Fina hourglass lifting and firming body lotion comes in a white plastic pump dispenser bottle that is very easy to use. The writing is black and very clear and there are easy to read symbols on the back showing that the product doesn’t contain any chemical nasties, is cruelty free and suitable for vegans. The packaging is attractive and has the distinctive Barefoot Botanicals logo at the top. There are also the contact details for Barefoot Botanicals at the bottom of the bottle.

Ingredients: Like all Barefoot Botanical products, the Barefoot Botanicals Rosa Fina hourglass lifting and firming body lotion doesn’t contain any chemical nasties and the ingredients are 100% ethically sourced. The secret of the Rosa Fina range, as stated on the packaging, is the rare and highly therapeutic Rosa Mosqueta Oil. Rosa mosqueta is a rosehip seed oil that has been a beauty secret of Chilean women for centuries with regeneration of skin cells being one of the many benefits of this ingredient. Rosa mosqueta has a dramatic effect on wrinkles, stretch marks and scar tissue, leaving skin smooth, firm and radiant.

Results: I have been using the Barefoot Botanicals Rosa Fina hourglass lifting and firming body lotion twice a day for a month now and can see a definite improvement in my normally dry skin. The stubborn dry patches on my leg have completely disappeared and are much smoother and whilst I don’t have many stretch marks, the few I have are starting to fade.

Pros: 100% natural, Improves the look of wrinkles, stretch marks and scar tissue, Absorbs into your skin easily, Pump dispenser is easy to use and it is easy to dispense the amount you need

Cons: £27.95 for 200ml is quite expensive for a body lotion.

Evolve Skin Glow Body Cream Reviews

Review of Evolve Skin Glow Body Cream
By Sally S.

Packaging: Evolve Skin Glow Body Cream is packaged in a plastic bottle (HDPE for ease of recycling) and the plastic is from recycled milk bottles. The packaging is pleasant, functional and there is no excess i.e. boxes.

Application: The product is a soft cream which decants from the flip top bottle easily with out being too runny. The cream smoothes on well and rubs in to leave no residue. It does have a slight aroma which I cannot put into words, it is not unpleasant and it does fade after application. It is important to wash your hands after use as this does contain a tanning agent.

Ingredients: Evolve Beauty products are certified organic and claim to contain no nasties. Amongst the ingredients are lovely moisturizers such as aloe, sunflower oil, coconut oil and apricot kernel oil. 99.85% of the ingredients are from natural origin.
Results: Fantastic product, I just love the consistency, moisturizing and colour it gives. My skin gets a little dry so I use this a few times a week and do not need to use a self tan or separate moisturiser. There is no streaking, no colour rubbing off, no strong smell. It’s great in the summer to enhance a tan and great in the winter to add a little warmth. It fades evenly too so no patchiness.

Pros:
Very pleasant to apply, smoothes on well.
Skin nutritious ingredients rather than chemicals.
Slowly gives a beautiful tan.
Made in UK
Cons:
As with all firm plastic bottles some product does get stuck inside when you reach the end.

Trilogy Balancing Gel Cleanser Reviews

Review of Trilogy Balancing Gel Cleanser
By Caroline S.

Packaging: Trilogy Balancing Gel Cleanser is packaged simply and attractively in a matte-finish plastic tube with flip top lid. The colours are cream and burgundy and directions for use (plus the main active ingredients) are shown on the tube itself as well as on the outer cardboard box. The flip lid is brilliant - very sturdy and it stays closed until opened with a sharp tug; this is great because I have found that some less sturdy lids have opened in my wash bag when I've been travelling and spilled the contents of the tube everywhere! The tube is also really easy to squeeze so you can dispense a controlled amount of product.

Application: Although this product describes itself as a "gel cleanser" it could be equally described as a face wash, in my opinion. It is a wonderful, soft, liquid-gel consistency and is so silky that is almost feels like a serum. It doesn't foam at all but it spreads across the skin easily and you find after the first couple of uses that you probably don't need to use as much as you initially thought - which is good from a financial point of view!

The smell of the cleanser is just wonderful. It is strong without being overpowering but as you use it you can smell every ounce of goodness that you are treating your skin to. It smells quite powerfully herbal with floral and fruity undertones and you find yourself deliberately trying to identify the different scents! I love the fact that there are so many beautiful ingredients and yet you can pick out each one individually. Often with cleansers and washes, I find that one scent overpowers all the others and so it is proof of the quality of the Trilogy Products that the blend of this cleanser allows you to really smell and feel everything you are treating your skin to.

I have mainly been using it as I would a facial wash i.e massaging into the skin and then adding more water for a further massage before rinsing. This is because I haven't been wearing much make-up recently and so there was only surface dirt to remove from my skin. However, I did try it with make-up and a muslin cloth and found that it was not bad at dissolving the cosmetics and leaving my skin clean but not as good as a lot of other Trilogy products.

To be truthful though, it seems almost a waste to me to remove make up with this product because it leaves skin so soft and moisturised. My own preference is to remove the majority of make-up with a natural cream cleanser and a cloth/cotton wool pad, then finish by washing with the Balancing Gel Cleanser.

Ingredients: Purified Spring Water, Aloe Vera Leaf, Elderberry Extract, Honey, Comfrey Root, Cucumber Extract, Kawa Kawa Extract, Rosehip Seed Oil,

Results: I absolutely adore this face wash. Trilogy Balancing Gel Cleanser is now a definite member of my "must not be without" collection of bathroom essentials. I have fair skin which is prone to redness and I am currently also experiencing some soreness and tightness in my cheek area. This cleanser is so soft, gentle and soothing that it is an instant relief every time I wash my face. It really does leave your skin soft and moisturised whilst feeling completely clean. It leaves behind no residue whatsoever and rinses off quickly with no need to rub. I just love everything about it. If you have tender or sensitive skin, then this product is perfect for you. Not only does it apply beautifully with no pulling or dragging on the skin but it also rinses clean without the need to rub. This is exactly what sensitive skins need and the soothing extracts of aloe vera and honey just make it even better. If you don't have sensitive skin then you can just enjoy the luxurious feel of the silky soft cleanser and the amazing scent that surrounds and uplifts you. Yes, Trilogy Balancing Gel Cleanser really is THAT good!

Pros:

Silky smooth gel consistency which applies easily

Really comforting for sensitive skins

Leaves skin feeling moisturised and nourished

Leaves skin soft to the touch

Great sturdy packaging that it safe for travel

Amazing aroma that is powerful and uplifting

Balances oily areas without drying

Cons:

Other products are better at removing make up

Nude Facial Cleansing Oil Reviews

Review of Nude Facial Cleansing Oil
By Anisa B.

Packaging: Nude Facial Cleansing Oil comes in a 100ml bottle with a spray top. The product is packaged well and dispenses easily and hygienically. I also think it’s quite modern and sleek looking, it is also quite compact. The bottle is opaque so you cannot see how much is left.

Application: This oil does not have a very thick texture; it is a light oil but feels moisturising on the face. It is a light golden colour and has a subtle smell; it is by no means over the top or irritating. It massages easily onto the skin and does not feel overly greasy or heavy.

Results: I used this for a few weeks and my thoughts are that it is an effective gentle cleanser. For someone with normal to dry like me, this leaves the skin feeling moisturised and not tight. I apply it onto a damp face and then rinse off (it turns into a milk) and then follow up with a damp muslin cloth to ensure it all off my face. I do however break out with ingredients like squalene so I don’t use this everyday as I feel like me skin gets congested but to remove make-up effectively and gently and for those with drier skin, this would be a great option.

Pros:

Moisturising and does not dry skin out
Effectively removes make-up
Rinses off like a milk unlike some other oil cleansers
Dispenses easily
Easy and quick to use

cons:
It may break some people out who have issues with some of the oils
Some may need to follow up with an additional face wash

Earth Mama Angel Baby Angel Baby Oil Reviews

Earth Mama Angel Baby Angel Baby Oil
By Anisa B.
This Angel Baby Oil comes in a 30ml plastic bottle with a screw top lid, it can get messy to pour out and sometimes you get too much, the bigger size bottle has a pump which will work a lot better with this product.

The oil does not smell of anything. It is soft yellow in colour and does not stain clothing or anything else. The texture is of a light oil, it absorbs quickly into the skin without a greasy feel.

The ingredients for this product are: Vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil, Simmondsia chinensis (organic jojoba) seed oil, Matricaria recutita (organic chamomile) extract, Calendula officinalis (organic calendula) extract. The ingredients are nut free, paraben free, toxin free, no artificial fragrance or dyes, cruelty free and vegan like all Earth Mama Angel Baby products.

I’ve been using this oil on my toddler after her bath when her skin is still slightly damp. It absorbs very easily into her skin without leaving an oily film, it keeps her skin from getting dry and it stays soft. She actually enjoys it when I apply this on her and always remembers to get it out of the cupboard when she’s had a bath. I think it would also be wonderful for littler ones before bath time as a massage oil. A lovely product!

The pros of this moisturiser are:
Fragrance free / non irritating
Light easily absorbed texture
Contains calming ingredients

Earth Mama Angel Baby Oil Reviews

Review of Earth Mama Angel Baby Oil
By Catherine J

Packaging: The Earth Mama Angel Baby Oil is in an attractive little bottle with a screw top lid

Application: The Angel Baby Oil was easy to apply; it wasn’t very greasy and glided easily onto my son’s skin. It absorbed easily and didn’t leave his skin greasy at all.

Ingredients: Earth Mama Angel Baby Oil is toxin free and vegan. It also has no nut oils which is great as so many children have nut allergies. The ingredients shown on the bottle are Vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil, Simmondsia chinensis (organic jojoba) seed oil, Matricaria recutita (organic chamomile) extract, Calendula officinalis (organic calendula) extract, Tocopherol (vitamin E), Rosemarinus officinalis (rosemary) oleoresin. Many of these ingredients are also in other Earth Mama Angel Baby Products.

There are no artificial preservatives, and no artificial fragrances.

Results: It is a fantastic oil to use for baby massage, it left my hands lovely and soft and glided easily over my son’s skin. My family has a lot of skin problems like eczema and having no chemicals meant it was perfect for his skin.

Pros:

Full of natural ingredients
No nut oils
Toxin free
Fragrance free

Cons: None

Pureman 24 Hour Moisturiser Reviews

A’kin Pureman 24 Hour Moisturiser
By Anisa B

Packaging: A’kin Pureman 24 Hour Moisturiser comes in a brown 50ml pump top bottle. The cream dispenses easily and hygienically.

The moisturiser smells herbally, it’s not masculine neither is it feminine, just botanical and pleasant. The consistency is creamy and thick but not greasy or oily. It’s easy to massage on to the skin and absorbs into the skin quickly.

Ingredients: A’kin says: A'kin Pureman Moisturiser harnesses the natural benefits of hydrolysed oats, anthyllis vulneraria flower extract, olive extract, vitamin E and orange to fight back against the elements for younger looking skin. There are no ingredients in here that would cause irritation to sensitive skin, and the ingredients are all vegan/vegetarian like all A’kin Pureman Products.

Results: I gave this to my husband to try and he said that it felt moisturising without being heavy on the skin. He doesn’t like to use it everyday as he’s not used to moisturising but does use it occasionally and finds it to be a good product.

The pros of this moisturiser are:
• Pump bottle
• Unisex smelling product
• Moisturising without being greasy

Natural Being Manuka Hand and Body Cream Reviews

Natural Being Manuka Hand and Body Cream
By Beverly S

Packaging: Natural Being Manuka Hand and Body Cream has no frills, and comes in a fresh white plastic tube in a box (recyclable) Elegant Logo in pale bronze & almond colours. Gender friendly tube. Details can be read clearly.
100ml although very deceptive as the tube feels very light unlike my other hand/body creams.

Ingredients: Natural Being's reassuring list of ingredients are mainly derived from essential oils some of which are certified organic. Off course Manuka Honey is used to hydrate & maintain moisture (this worked for me) the Manuka oil with it's antibacterial properties enhances the creams properties with anti-fungal & anti-inflammatory attributes (this worked for the cuts in my hands during the cold weather) Wheat germ oil & Glycerin are also included with the parfam is derived from essential oils.

Most importantly Natural Being's Manuka cream has been certified by BDIH & has the Bunny logo showing the product hasn't been tested on animals like all Natural Being’s Products.

Application: Natural Being recommend this cream for hands and body but specifically they detail elbows & heels which I would tend to focus on with this cream. At first the scent seemed light although I found on application the scent of the manuka oil (antibacterial) was quite strong. It disappeared fairly quickly but my personal preference would be to use Natural Beings Manuka Hand and Body Cream to treat areas rather than a complete body cream.
It was white when applying which was good as I could see exactly where the cream was before it absorbed completely. The cream absorbs without trace apart from the scent belying the fact it is rich.

Comments: I really had different conditions to thoroughly test Manuka Hand and Body Cream. The very cold weather took revenge on my hands with dry/cracked areas. Although my normal creams feel a lot richer then one thing I noticed with the manuka was that the cuts on my hands healed up! I normally suffer in the cold weather and feel the healing properties of the manuka oil helped my hands especially the open cuts. I still felt the need for extra moisture but this may not be the case for the majority as my hands are constantly dry even with the richest of creams.

I preferred not to use it as a body cream mainly due to the scent and the fact the tube was so light I didn't know how long it would last if I used it daily.
I concentrated on my hands and then my legs as the fact Natural Being's Manuka cream ab-sorbed so easily I didn't have to wait until my legs felt non greasy to continue dressing. The cream didn't eave any trace or feel of oil.

Results: Despite my concerns about the light texture al areas I treated with the cream are i good condition even after the severe cold & a water crisis which really put my creams to the test. I admit to indulging in rich body and hand creams but have to commend Natural Being for an af-fordable cream which really does work. The cream dispensed to the last drop without loss or clogging.

Pros:

Multi tasking cream with benefits beyond a normal body cream with the extra properties from the manuka honey and oil used
Price for high quality ingredients is remarkable possible due to the no frills packaging.
Affordable for daily use with the additional protection with a minimal amount needed.

Cons:

The scent will be on a personal basis. It is slightly clinical although disappears after application. I found the natural manuka scent a little too much if I used as a complete body cream but as a treatment cream it was fine. I used the full tube in the 4 weeks test only on treatment areas al-though less could be used as it is intensive despite the light texture.
